by Maria Kay Simms This ritual is planned to inspire and manifest one strong goal for the season of waxing light. Mediate on the one goal on which you most want creative inspiration and manifestation in your life-and also upon the blockages or excuses you perceive might stand in your way of achieving it. Keep it simple and clear, taking care that your intent is for the creative change within yourself that will allow you to reach your goal, with harm to none and according to the free will of all. Assemble a broom, water, salt, an appropriate incense such as Creative Fire, paper and pen, five candles (white, yellow, red, blue, green) in holders, a length (at least one yard, preferably more) of red yarn or cord and whatever else you may need to cast circle in your usual manner, including a small table to serve as altar. Set the yellow candle to the east, the red to the south, the blue to the west and the green to the north. Place your altar at the center with the white candle and other tools on or next to it. Begin by thoroughly sweeping your entire ritual area in a clockwise spiral, all the while meditating that you are banishing those blockages and excuses. They can only be hindrances if you allow them to be. Like the debris of winter, sweep them away! Make room for the spring of new Light. Now, bless the elements, blending salt with water and lighting the incense and use them in casting your Circle. Sprinkle the salt water on yourself all around your ritual area clockwise to cleanse, and then go around again wafting the incense smoke to consecrate. When you return to your altar, sprinkle paper, pen and red cord with the saltwater to cleanse them, and then pass them through the incense smoke to charge them. Call the Watchtowers, lighting each candle as you speak. Pause for a moment after each call and feel the power of the element within. To fire my thoughts, inspire my rite. Oh Power of Air, be within me! Fires of South, burn high, burn bright. Charge my will, inspire my rite. Oh Power of Fire, be within me! Waves that reflect the fiery light Flow with compassion, inspire my rite. Oh Power of Water, be within me! Earth with molten core of light, With strength and purpose, inspire my rite. Oh Power of Earth, be within me! Light the white candle, and invoke Brighid: I seek your inspiration, creative, fiery bright. Speak within me, let me know the things that I must do To manifest the goal I seek, to make my dream come true. Oh, Spirit of Brighid, be within me! When you have finished writing, fold the paper back and forth like a fan and tie one end of the red cord around it in the center. Tie it with conviction, for it binds you to your intent. Now place the paper the full cord's length away from you. Slowly pull it toward you as you focus intently on bringing your goal to you with the help of the new ideas that you've been given in this rite. Chant: Inspired and charged it comes to me. Creative Fire Incense
Charge my creativity Cinnamon must be added sparingly. A little is good, but too much can end up smelling like burnt cookies. What is a "pinch" will depend upon what to you is a "part." Also the amount of oil could vary. When creating incense blends, it is best to light a charcoal in your incense burner and test. Then you can adjust amounts a little, if needed. This "tester," currently lacking a small scale to weigh ounces, uses kitchen measuring tools. A "part," as tested here, is two level tsp. of roughly ground ingredient.
